The name of season 3, chapter 2 of Stranger Things is The Mall Rats. It is the second episode of Stranger Things 3 and the nineteenth episode of the series overall.

Netflix released the episode on July 4, 2019, together with all seven other episodes in the season. The Duffer Brothers directed and wrote it. Its story continues the summer 1985 setting as the new Starcourt Mall dominates Hawkins’ commercial and social life.

The title has a double meaning. Eleven and Max spend time shopping at Starcourt, while Steve, Robin and Dustin investigate a coded Russian transmission connected to the mall. At the same time, Nancy and Jonathan follow a disturbing trail involving unusually aggressive rats and the supernatural threat returning to Hawkins.
