What is the name of Princess Fiona’s father in the Shrek films?
Answer
King Harold
Answer
King Harold
Princess Fiona’s father in the Shrek films is King Harold.
King Harold is introduced in Shrek 2 as the king of Far Far Away and Fiona’s father. He initially struggles to accept Shrek as Fiona’s husband, partly because of the expectations surrounding royal marriage and partly because of his own hidden history.
The character’s backstory explains that Harold was once a human who made a bargain with the Fairy Godmother. In return for help becoming a prince and marrying Queen Lillian, he accepted obligations that later affected Fiona and Shrek.
King Harold should not be confused with King Fergus, Fiona’s father in the later spin-off Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which belongs to a different character continuity. In the original Shrek film series, Fiona’s father is consistently King Harold, voiced by John Cleese.
