What is the name of Nintendo’s handheld-only console released in 2019?

Nintendo’s handheld-only console released in 2019 is the Nintendo Switch Lite.

Nintendo released the Switch Lite on September 20, 2019, as a smaller and less expensive member of the Switch family. Unlike the original Switch, it has permanently attached controls and cannot connect to a television through a dock.

The system is designed specifically for handheld play. It supports Switch games that work in handheld mode, although some titles require separate Joy-Con controllers for every feature. Its controls are integrated into the body, giving it a more traditional portable-console shape.

The Switch Lite is not simply a smaller original Switch: it lacks detachable Joy-Con controllers, tabletop kickstand hardware, and TV output. It is also distinct from the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, which remains a dockable hybrid console.
