What is the name of Mario Kart World’s feature that rewinds a driver after a mistake?

The story behind the answer

Mario Kart World calls its mistake-correcting feature Rewind. In Free Roam or single-player play, Rewind returns the player’s vehicle to its previous position after a driving error.

The feature is intended to reduce the frustration of missed jumps, failed shortcuts, or navigation mistakes in the game’s large interconnected world. It can be especially useful while exploring away from normal race routes.

Rewind does not freeze or reverse rival drivers. Other racers continue moving normally while the player’s vehicle is restored, so using it can cost a lead. It is also distinct from the game’s Charge Jump movement technique, which is used to clear obstacles and reach rails.
