What is the name of King Triton's crab advisor?

The story behind the answer

What is the name of King Triton’s crab advisor? His crab advisor is Sebastian.

Sebastian serves King Triton as an adviser, court composer, and reluctant supervisor of Ariel. In the film, Triton assigns him to keep an eye on Ariel, especially after she repeatedly visits the surface and becomes fascinated with humans. Sebastian’s official responsibilities often place him in comic situations, but he also acts as one of Ariel’s most important supporters.

The character was created specifically for Disney’s film and does not appear in Hans Christian Andersen’s original 1837 fairy tale. Early development imagined him as an English butler lobster named Clarence. Howard Ashman helped transform the role into a Trinidadian-accented crab, allowing the music and dialogue to reflect Caribbean influences.

Samuel E. Wright provided Sebastian’s voice. His signature song, “Under the Sea,” became one of the film’s best-known musical numbers. The name “Sebastian” is sometimes confused with his expanded fictional full name, but the quiz answer is simply Sebastian.
