Justin Timberlake's character in "Bad Teacher" is Scott Delacorte.
Scott is a wealthy, friendly substitute teacher who becomes the target of Elizabeth Halsey, played by Cameron Diaz. Elizabeth initially pursues him because she believes his family connections and financial background could provide the comfortable life she wants.
Unlike Elizabeth's cynical and openly dishonest personality, Scott is presented as sincere, polite, and somewhat naive. Timberlake's performance uses that contrast for much of the film's comedy, especially as Scott fails to recognize Elizabeth's manipulative motives.
A common mix-up is to identify Timberlake simply by the actor's name or to confuse Scott with Russell Gettis, the gym teacher played by Jason Segel. Scott Delacorte is the character's full name.
