What is the name of J.K. Rowling’s 1998 novel featuring the Chamber of Secrets?

The story behind the answer

J.K. Rowling’s 1998 novel featuring the Chamber of Secrets is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

It is the second book in the Harry Potter series and was published in the United Kingdom on 2 July 1998. The story follows Harry during his second year at Hogwarts, where students are attacked after the legendary Chamber of Secrets is opened. Harry, Ron and Hermione investigate the mystery and discover its connection to the school’s history.

The chamber was created by Salazar Slytherin, one of Hogwarts’ four founders. According to the legend, Slytherin left behind a monster that could be released by his heir. The book eventually identifies the creature as a basilisk and reveals that Tom Riddle’s diary has been used to manipulate events.

The film adaptation, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, was released in 2002. It was directed by Chris Columbus, who also directed the first Harry Potter film. The novel should not be confused with the later book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which also explores Voldemort’s past.
