What is the name of Elliot Stabler's wife?
Answer
Kathy Stabler
Answer
Kathy Stabler
Elliot Stabler's wife is Kathy Stabler.
Kathy, portrayed by Isabel Gillies, is introduced as Elliot's wife in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The couple married when they were both 17 and had four children when the series began: Maureen, Kathleen, and twins Richard and Elizabeth. They later had a fifth child, Elliot Jr., usually called Eli.
Their marriage is a recurring part of Stabler's character story. Kathy temporarily separates from Elliot during seasons 6 through 8, partly because of the strain caused by his dangerous and consuming police work. They reconcile after she becomes pregnant with Eli. This separation can cause confusion because Kathy is absent for stretches of the show, but she remains the canonical answer to the question.
Kathy later returns to the Law & Order universe in the crossover-era episode “Return of the Prodigal Son.” She is killed in a car bombing, an event that motivates Elliot's return and eventual move into Law & Order: Organized Crime.
