What is the name of Cyberpunk 2077’s 2023 story expansion?

Cyberpunk 2077’s 2023 story expansion is called Phantom Liberty.

Phantom Liberty was released on September 26, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It adds Dogtown, a dangerous district controlled by the former soldier Kurt Hansen, and introduces a spy-thriller storyline involving the New United States, President Rosalind Myers, Solomon Reed, and Songbird.

Idris Elba plays Solomon Reed, a major new character in the expansion. The story can be started during the main campaign after V receives a call connected with Dogtown, or through a separate option that allows players to jump directly into its content with a prepared character.

Phantom Liberty launched alongside update 2.0, although the update itself was available to owners of the base game without buying the expansion. That update overhauled perks, cyberware, police systems, vehicle combat, and other mechanics. Phantom Liberty is an expansion rather than a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
