What is the name of Beyoncé's visual album film tied to The Lion King: The Gift?
Answer
Black Is King
Beyoncé's visual album film tied to The Lion King: The Gift is Black Is King.
Black Is King was released in 2020 and written, directed, and executive produced by Beyoncé. It reimagines the themes and music associated with The Lion King: The Gift, the companion album she curated for the 2019 film The Lion King.
The film features songs from The Gift along with appearances by artists including Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Childish Gambino, and Shatta Wale. Its imagery celebrates African and African-diaspora cultures through fashion, dance, landscapes, family scenes, and contemporary visual art.
Black Is King is not the same project as Lemonade, which was released in 2016, or Homecoming, which documents Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella performances. Disney+ distributed the film internationally after its 2020 release.
