What was the name of the group Beyoncé joined that later became Destiny’s Child?

The story behind the answer

The group Beyoncé joined was originally called Girl’s Tyme before it became Destiny’s Child.

Girl’s Tyme formed in Houston in 1990 and included Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and Támar Davis at different stages. The group competed on the television program Star Search in 1993, although it did not win.

After lineup changes and management difficulties, the group signed with Columbia Records. Its name changed to Destiny’s Child, and the group released its self-titled debut album in 1998.

Destiny’s Child became one of the best-selling girl groups in music history. Its most commercially successful lineup consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. “No, No, No” helped introduce the group to a broad audience, while later singles such as “Say My Name” and “Survivor” became major hits.
