What is the name of Batman's primary vehicle?

Batman’s primary vehicle is the Batmobile. It is a fictional high-performance car used by Batman to patrol Gotham City, pursue criminals, transport equipment, and sometimes engage in combat.

The idea of Batman using a dedicated automobile dates to Detective Comics #27 in 1939, although the name “Batmobile” was coined later, in Detective Comics #48. Its design has changed dramatically across comics, television, animation, and film, but it typically features armor, advanced communications, hidden weapons, and a distinctive bat-inspired appearance.

The most famous early screen version appeared in the 1960s Batman television series and was built from a 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car by customizer George Barris. Tim Burton’s 1989 film introduced a long, armored, Art Deco-inspired design, while later films have portrayed the vehicle as anything from a heavily armed supercar to a rugged muscle car.

The Batboat, Batcycle, and Batwing are also Batman vehicles, but each has a different function: water travel, motorcycle transport, and aerial flight. They do not replace the Batmobile as his signature land vehicle.
