Anakin Skywalker’s home planet is Tatooine. He grew up there as a slave with his mother, Shmi Skywalker, in the desert city of Mos Espa.

In Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn meets Anakin on Tatooine and recognizes his extraordinary connection to the Force. Anakin later leaves the planet to train as a Jedi, but returns when he learns that his mother is in danger.
