Mario Kart World supports races with up to 24 players.
That figure is the game’s headline multiplayer capacity and is made possible by the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and the game’s interconnected course design. It doubles the player count associated with previous Mario Kart games, creating much larger fields of racers.
The number applies to the overall supported race experience, not to every way of playing. A single Nintendo Switch 2 system supports fewer players through split-screen, while local wireless play also has its own limit. Those smaller figures are separate from the game’s maximum race capacity.
The 24-player field is especially important in modes built around continuous movement between courses. It allows more opponents to occupy the same event while preserving Mario Kart’s item-based racing and chaotic pack racing.
