The people who pitch businesses to investors on Dragon's Den are entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs appear before the Dragons to present a company, product or business idea and request investment. Their pitch normally includes information about the business, its sales, its valuation and the share of ownership they are prepared to offer. The Dragons then question them before deciding whether to make an offer.
The term entrepreneur is more precise than presenter, because the presenter guides the programme while the entrepreneur owns or represents the business being pitched. It is also different from shareholder: a shareholder already owns an interest in a company, whereas a pitching entrepreneur is seeking investment and may offer equity as part of the deal.
Not every person who appears on the programme is necessarily the sole founder. Some pitches are made by teams, co-founders or business partners. The shared role is that they are entrepreneurs seeking finance or expertise from the investor panel.
