J.K. Rowling’s character Dumbledore has the first name Albus.
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is introduced as the headmaster of Hogwarts and one of the wizarding world’s most powerful and respected figures. He was played by Richard Harris in the first two films and by Michael Gambon in the later films; Jude Law portrayed a younger version in the Fantastic Beasts films.
Dumbledore is central to the series because he understands Lord Voldemort’s history and helps Harry prepare for the final confrontation. His earlier friendship with Gellert Grindelwald is explored in the later books and films. That relationship is also connected to the legendary Elder Wand and the conflict over the Deathly Hallows.
The character’s full name contains several unusual elements. Percival is his father’s name, while Wulfric and Brian are additional given names. Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus’s younger brother, is a separate character and a frequent source of confusion because both brothers are important to the later story.
