The Forest Temple follows Twilight Princess’s opening sequence in Ordon Village, Faron Woods, and the early Twilight sections. After restoring light to the Faron region, Link enters the temple to search for the kidnapped monkey companions and recover one of the Fused Shadows.

The dungeon is built around exploration, vertical movement, and cooperation with monkeys. Link rescues them from cages, and the freed monkeys help him cross large gaps by forming a chain. The dungeon’s main item is the Gale Boomerang, which can strike distant switches, defeat enemies, and manipulate wind-driven mechanisms.

The Forest Temple is commonly mixed up with the Goron Mines because the latter is the next major dungeon. Snowpeak Ruins and the Temple of Time occur much later. Its boss is Diababa, a giant plant creature fought after Link gathers the necessary monkey allies and reaches the temple’s deepest chamber.
