What is the country of origin of The Boys TV series?

The Boys TV series originated in the United States. It is an American superhero television series developed for Amazon by American writer and producer Eric Kripke.

Although the story travels through fictional locations and includes an international cast, its production identity is American. The series is based on the comic book created by Scottish writer Garth Ennis and British artist Darick Robertson, which can make the show’s national origin seem less straightforward.

The setting also adds to the confusion. Much of the action takes place in a fictionalized version of the United States, where superheroes are treated as celebrities and managed by Vought International. The show’s American origin refers to its television production, development, and industry classification—not the nationalities of every creator or performer.
