What is the collective title of C.S. Lewis’s seven Narnia novels?
Answer
The Chronicles of Narnia
Answer
The Chronicles of Narnia
C.S. Lewis’s seven Narnia novels are collectively titled The Chronicles of Narnia.
The series consists of The Magician’s Nephew, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Horse and His Boy, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, and The Last Battle.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book published, in 1950. The Magician’s Nephew was published later but is often placed first in chronological reading lists because it describes Narnia’s creation. Publication order and chronological order therefore do not match.
The seven books are linked by Narnia’s history and by recurring figures, especially Aslan. They are not seven unrelated stories, even though each has its own protagonists, setting, and central conflict. The collective title identifies the complete sequence rather than one individual volume.
