The background color of the Lamborghini shield logo is black.
The familiar badge pairs that dark shield with a charging bull, traditionally rendered in gold, and the Lamborghini name above it. The high-contrast black-and-gold combination is now one of the most recognizable visual signatures in the automotive world.
The emblem’s bull reflects founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s zodiac sign and his interest in Spanish fighting bulls. The first production-era designs used more colors, however, so the logo has not looked identical throughout the company’s history. A blue-background version appeared with the Diablo in 1990, which is a common source of confusion.
Lamborghini returned to the black background after Audi acquired the company in 1998. The redesigned badge used a more muscular gold bull and gold lettering on black. A modern logo introduced in 2024 keeps black as the dominant color, while gold remains an accent, so black is the standard answer for the current shield.
