Paris is the main city in Assassin's Creed Unity. Set during the French Revolution, the 2014 game follows Arno Dorian as he becomes involved with the Assassin Brotherhood and investigates a Templar conspiracy.
The game depicts Paris during the late 18th century, including locations such as the Île de la Cité, the Palace of Versailles, and the Notre-Dame area. Its dense urban design supports the series' climbing and freerunning mechanics, while crowds form a major part of the game's visual setting.
Unity is sometimes mixed up with Assassin's Creed Syndicate, whose main city is London. It is also separate from Assassin's Creed Liberation, which is primarily set in 18th-century Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Unity's title refers to its cooperative multiplayer missions as well as the story's political and personal alliances.
