In Assassin's Creed Rogue, which former Assassin becomes a Templar after a major change of allegiance?

The story behind the answer

Shay Cormac is the former Assassin who becomes a Templar in Assassin's Creed Rogue.

Shay begins the game as a member of the Colonial Brotherhood, working under Achilles Davenport during the eighteenth century. After a disastrous mission connected to an ancient artifact, Shay loses faith in the Assassins' methods and leaves them. He later joins the Templars and hunts his former allies, making him the playable protagonist of a story told largely from the opposing side.

Rogue is set during the Seven Years' War and links the settings and characters of Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Shay's actions also provide narrative connections to Assassin's Creed Unity, especially through the fate of Charles Dorian. The game was released in 2014.
