What is Robin's surname in "Stranger Things"?

The story behind the answer

Robin’s surname in “Stranger Things” is Buckley. Robin Buckley is introduced in season three as Steve Harrington’s witty coworker at Scoops Ahoy, the ice-cream shop in Starcourt Mall.

Robin helps Steve decode a Russian transmission, leading them, Dustin, and Erica to discover the secret Soviet base beneath the mall. Her sharp humor, wide-ranging film knowledge, and ability to solve puzzles quickly make her a valuable member of the Hawkins group. She later works with Steve at Family Video and becomes one of the show’s central supporting characters.

The character is played by Maya Hawke, who joined the cast for the third season. Robin’s friendship with Steve is an important part of her story: although Steve initially expects their relationship to become romantic, Robin comes out to him as a lesbian, and the two remain close friends.

The surname “Buckley” was also revealed through a creative social-media clue from the show’s writers. Robin is sometimes associated with aliases such as “Rockin’ Robin” or “Rebel Robin,” but those are nicknames or promotional identities, not her surname.
