What is Microsoft’s color emoji font called?

Microsoft’s color emoji font is called Segoe UI Emoji.

Segoe UI Emoji is part of Microsoft’s Segoe UI typeface family and is used to display emoji in Windows and Microsoft software. It works alongside related Segoe UI fonts that cover text, symbols, and other writing systems.

The font’s glyph designs are Microsoft’s artwork, not universal emoji illustrations. Unicode standardizes the encoded characters and sequences, but operating systems and applications decide how those characters are drawn. This is why the same emoji can appear noticeably different across Windows, iOS, Android, and web services.

A common mix-up is Noto Color Emoji, which is Google’s widely used color emoji font for Android and other systems. Apple Color Emoji belongs to Apple, while Twemoji is Twitter’s open-source emoji artwork project.
