What feature lets a Nintendo Switch 2 owner share Pokémon Pokopia with another player?

The story behind the answer

GameShare lets a Nintendo Switch 2 owner share Pokémon Pokopia with another player.

The feature allows a Switch 2 system to initiate a session so that another participant can join without owning the game in the usual way. Nintendo describes GameShare as a way to invite a friend who does not have Pokopia, subject to the supported hardware and service conditions.

GameShare is different from GameChat, which is Nintendo’s communication feature, and from Nintendo Switch Online, which is a subscription service used for eligible online functionality. Those names are connected with multiplayer but do not identify the sharing system itself.

A GameShare recipient’s access is temporary rather than a permanent transfer of ownership. Nintendo’s conditions state that shared software is playable during the session in which it was shared. This makes GameShare a multiplayer access feature, not a method for giving away a digital copy.
