What does Mosslax have growing over it in Pokémon Pokopia?

Moss and other plants grow over Mosslax in Pokémon Pokopia.

Mosslax is a special Snorlax that slept for such a long time that vegetation accumulated on its body. The character’s appearance turns an ordinary Pokémon trait—Snorlax’s tendency to sleep—into a visible sign of the world’s long period of abandonment.

The name combines the character’s overgrown appearance with Snorlax’s species name. Mosslax is therefore not a new evolution or a separate Pokémon species. It is an individual Snorlax encountered in the game’s unusual cast.

Mosslax also reflects Pokopia’s environmental storytelling. The plants growing over the sleeping Pokémon show how much time has passed and how strongly nature has reclaimed the abandoned landscape. The detail is one of several ways the game gives special Pokémon identities tied to the setting.
