Answer
Horizontally inverts the entire map
Mirror Mode horizontally inverts the entire map in Mario Kart World.
This changes the direction and placement of turns, hazards, shortcuts, and landmarks while preserving the basic course layout. Players who have memorized a normal route must adapt because familiar left turns become right turns and vice versa.
Mirror Mode is a returning Mario Kart feature rather than a new World-exclusive invention. Its purpose is to provide a fresh challenge without requiring Nintendo to build entirely new courses.
The mode is sometimes confused with a reversed race order or a mode with altered items. Neither is correct. Mirror Mode changes the course geometry’s orientation. It does not simply make racers drive backward, remove power-ups, or impose a different time limit.
