What does Hoothoot enjoy in Pokémon Pokopia?

Hoothoot enjoys darkness in Pokémon Pokopia.

The detail illustrates how Pokémon in Pokopia have individual habitat preferences. Players must create suitable environments to encourage particular Pokémon to appear, so habitat design is not merely cosmetic decoration.

The game includes a day-and-night cycle linked to real-world time. Hoothoot's preference for darkness therefore connects its needs with one of Pokopia's ongoing environmental systems rather than being an isolated character description.

Other Pokémon require different arrangements, such as planting grass beneath a tree or placing a punching bag beside a bench. These requirements encourage players to experiment with structures, terrain, and objects while restoring the world. Hoothoot's preference should not be confused with a general rule that every Pokémon appears only at night; it is a specific need associated with Hoothoot.
