Under what name did J.K. Rowling write the Cormoran Strike crime novels?
Answer
Robert Galbraith
Answer
Robert Galbraith
J.K. Rowling wrote the Cormoran Strike crime novels under the name Robert Galbraith.
The first book in the series, The Cuckoo’s Calling, was published in April 2013 and introduced private detective Cormoran Strike and his temporary secretary, Robin Ellacott. The pseudonym was initially presented as the identity of a new male crime novelist.
The author’s identity became public in July 2013 after an analysis by researchers and a newspaper report revealed that Rowling was behind the name. Rowling said the pseudonym allowed her to publish without the immediate expectations associated with her fame as the author of Harry Potter.
The series continued with novels including The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. The books are credited to Robert Galbraith, although Rowling’s authorship is now well established.
