Uncle Rukus is a character in which Adult Swim cartoon?

Uncle Ruckus is a character in the Adult Swim cartoon The Boondocks.

Created by cartoonist Aaron McGruder, The Boondocks began as a newspaper comic strip in 1996 before becoming an animated television series in 2005. The show follows brothers Huey and Riley Freeman after they move from Chicago to the mostly white suburb of Woodcrest.

Uncle Ruckus is one of the series’ most recognizable supporting characters and often serves as a satirical antagonist. He is portrayed as a deeply self-hating Black man who falsely believes he is white because of a fictional condition called “re-vitiligo.” His extreme beliefs are deliberately written as social satire rather than as a realistic endorsement of racism.

Gary Anthony Williams provided Ruckus’s voice in the animated series. A common mix-up is confusing Uncle Ruckus with characters from other Adult Swim shows, but his distinctive monologues and absurd worldview are specifically associated with The Boondocks.
