The Richard Nixon Presidential Library is located in which California city?

The story behind the answer

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library is located in Yorba Linda, California.

The library and museum stands on a nine-acre campus at 18001 Yorba Linda Boulevard, on land associated with Richard Nixon’s family. The site includes Nixon’s birthplace, a National Historic Landmark, as well as museum galleries, research facilities, gardens, and the burial places of Nixon and his wife, Pat Nixon.

The facility was dedicated on July 19, 1990, and was originally operated by the privately managed Richard Nixon Foundation. Since 2007, it has been administered as part of the federal presidential-library system by the National Archives and Records Administration, while the foundation continues to play a role in operating the complex. A major renovation was rededicated in 2016.

Yorba Linda is in Orange County, southeast of Los Angeles, and is the key location detail quiz players sometimes overlook. The library is not in Washington, D.C., where many presidential records and institutions are found. Nixon was born in Yorba Linda in 1913 and spent part of his childhood there, making the city especially significant to the site’s history.
