The Avenue of the Giants runs through which California state park?
Answer
Humboldt Redwoods State Park
Answer
Humboldt Redwoods State Park
The Avenue of the Giants runs through Humboldt Redwoods State Park in northern California.
This scenic road follows the Eel River through one of the world’s most impressive surviving coast-redwood forests. It is about 31.6 miles long, linking areas near Phillipsville and Stafford while paralleling nearby U.S. Route 101.
The road was once part of U.S. 101. After the newer highway alignment was built, the former route was designated California State Route 254. Its name comes from the enormous coast redwoods that tower above the pavement, including trees in Founders Grove near Weott.
Visitors sometimes confuse Humboldt Redwoods State Park with California’s other major redwood parks, such as Prairie Creek or Jedediah Smith. Those parks are also famous, but the Avenue of the Giants is specifically associated with Humboldt Redwoods. Attractions along the route include Founders Grove, the Immortal Tree and a privately operated drive-through tree near Myers Flat.
