The 2026 MLB Field of Dreams ballpark was designed as a tribute to Comiskey Park.
Comiskey Park was the Chicago White Sox home from 1910 until 1990. The Iowa facility echoed elements of that historic stadium, including the shape of its outfield and bullpens positioned beyond center field.
The design was separate from the original movie-set field. That older diamond was preserved as a tourist attraction, so MLB standards could be met without permanently changing the film location. The new playing field was constructed in the surrounding cornfields.
The connection also recalled the 2021 Field of Dreams Game, when the White Sox played the Yankees in the inaugural MLB contest at the site. The 2026 game instead featured the Phillies and Twins.
