Answer
St. Louis Blues
Ken Hitchcock was the 2014 head coach of the St. Louis Blues hockey team. He led the Blues during the 2013–14 NHL season and was retained for the 2014–15 season after the club extended his contract in May 2014.
Hitchcock became St. Louis’s head coach in November 2011, replacing Davis Payne. In his first season, he guided the Blues to their first division title in 12 years and later won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s best head coach. His defensive structure and disciplined teams became hallmarks of his coaching style.
The 2013–14 Blues finished second in the Central Division with 111 points, but lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the playoffs. Hitchcock coached St. Louis through the 2016–17 season. He later returned to coach the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder in 2023.
