The 1968 Lamborghini Marzal concept had what unusual door style?
Answer
Gull‑wing doors
Answer
Gull‑wing doors
The 1968 Lamborghini Marzal concept had gull-wing doors. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, the Marzal used large glazed doors hinged at the roof, creating the distinctive upward-opening “gull-wing” effect.
Lamborghini presented the Marzal at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show, although it is often discussed as a 1968-era concept because of its subsequent appearances and influence. It was conceived as a genuine four-seat companion to Lamborghini’s two-seat Miura and 400 GT 2+2. The Marzal itself remained a one-off and never entered production.
Its unusual doors were only part of its radical design. The concept featured extensive glass, silver-colored interior trim, hexagonal styling motifs and six narrow headlamps. Although the Marzal was not produced, its broad wedge-shaped form and four-seat layout influenced the Lamborghini Espada. Gull-wing doors are hinged above the occupants; butterfly doors, by contrast, swing upward and outward from hinges near the A-pillar.
