Taylor Lautner reprises what major role in “Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 1”? He reprises the role of Jacob Black.
Jacob Black is Bella Swan’s close friend and a member of the Quileute tribe in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. In the story, Jacob becomes a werewolf and the leader of a wolf pack that opposes the vampire threat surrounding Bella and the Cullen family.
Lautner first played Jacob in the 2008 film Twilight. There was early discussion about whether he would return because Jacob undergoes a dramatic physical transformation in New Moon, but Lautner remained in the role and continued through the rest of the film series. His performance helped make Jacob one of the franchise’s central characters.
In Breaking Dawn—Part 1, Jacob attends Bella and Edward’s wedding and becomes increasingly involved after Bella’s pregnancy creates a crisis. The film is the first half of the adaptation of Meyer’s final novel; its story concludes in Breaking Dawn—Part 2, released in 2012.
