Rocky Ridges in Pokémon Pokopia is based on which former Kanto city?
Answer
Pewter City
Answer
Pewter City
Rocky Ridges in Pokémon Pokopia is based on the former location of Pewter City.
Rocky Ridges is a mountain valley transformed by a volcanic eruption. The eruption covered much of the old settlement in ash and left the surrounding area resembling an ash-covered wasteland. Despite the destruction, parts of the city’s mines remain intact.
The region contains an old restaurant built into the cliffs, where Ditto encounters Chef Dente, a cooking Greedent. The Pewter Museum of Science also survived, although it is isolated because the volcano has embedded it within the mountain. DJ Rotom occupies a chamber in the old mines.
The Kanto connection can be mixed up with other restored regions. Bleak Beach is based on Vermilion City, Sparkling Skylands on Saffron City, and Bubbly Basin on a sunken Cerulean City. Rocky Ridges specifically represents the devastated mountain setting once associated with Pewter City.
