Rally Chile is based around which Chilean city?

Rally Chile is based around the Chilean city of Concepción.

The event’s service park and operational base are in Concepción, a major city in Chile’s Biobío Region near the Pacific coast. Rally stages run through the surrounding countryside, where fast gravel roads pass through forest plantations, rolling hills and technical, often narrow sections. The city therefore serves as the rally’s logistical and ceremonial centre rather than being the location of every competitive stage.

Rally Chile joined the WRC calendar for the first time in 2019. After an interruption linked to the COVID-19 period, it returned to the championship in 2023 and continued as part of the modern WRC schedule. The event is known for high-speed gravel, changing grip and limited visibility caused by mist or forest cover.

Santiago is Chile’s capital and may seem like the obvious answer, but Rally Chile is not based there. Valparaíso is another prominent Chilean city, while Temuco is farther south; neither is the rally’s WRC base. Concepción is the canonical answer used by the event and championship references.
