Quantum of Solace is the direct sequel to which Bond film?

Quantum of Solace is the direct sequel to Casino Royale. It continues James Bond’s story almost immediately after the events of the 2006 film, making it the first pair of Eon-produced Bond films designed as a continuous narrative.

Casino Royale introduces Daniel Craig as Bond and ends with him pursuing the organization connected to Vesper Lynd’s betrayal and death. Quantum of Solace follows Bond as he seeks revenge while investigating the criminal network known as Quantum. The sequel therefore depends heavily on the emotional and plot developments established in Casino Royale.

The films also mark a reset of Bond’s continuity, presenting Craig’s version of the character at the beginning of his career as a 00 agent. Quantum of Solace was released in 2008, two years after Casino Royale, and was directed by Marc Forster. It is often confused with later Craig-era entries such as Skyfall, but Skyfall follows Quantum of Solace rather than directly preceding it.
