Mount Scenery is on Saba, the Caribbean island that contains the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Mount Scenery rises to 887 metres above sea level and is a dormant volcano. It forms the central highland of Saba, a small island in the northern Lesser Antilles. The summit is covered by cloud forest, a rare ecosystem shaped by frequent moisture and steep volcanic terrain.
Saba is a special municipality of the Netherlands, along with Bonaire and Sint Eustatius. Because of that constitutional relationship, Mount Scenery is the highest point not only in the Caribbean Netherlands but in the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands.
A common mix-up is confusing Saba with Sint Eustatius, another nearby Dutch Caribbean island. Sint Eustatius has the Quill volcano, but its summit is lower than Mount Scenery.
