The British television programme Dragons' Den first premiered on BBC Two.
The programme began broadcasting in the United Kingdom in 2005, bringing the international investment-pitch format to a BBC audience. Entrepreneurs present businesses or product ideas to a panel of wealthy investors and seek finance in exchange for an ownership stake.
BBC Two was traditionally associated with factual, documentary and specialist programming, making it a natural home for a business-focused reality format. Dragons' Den later became one of the BBC's best-known entrepreneurship programmes and continued to air on the channel.
BBC One is sometimes given as the answer because it is the BBC's main general-entertainment channel, but it was not the launch channel for Dragons' Den. BBC Three and BBC Four are also BBC channels, yet neither was the programme's original home. The channel fact concerns the British version, not the format's international adaptations.
