Dragon's Den first aired on BBC Two when the British programme launched in 2005.
BBC Two was the programme's original home during its early years. The channel was a natural fit for a factual entertainment series focused on entrepreneurship, business plans and investment negotiations. Its schedule gave the format room to build an audience before the show received a larger mainstream platform.
Dragon's Den later transferred to BBC One, where it continued to feature entrepreneurs seeking investment from the Dragons. Moving channels does not change the programme's original launch history: the first British episodes belong to BBC Two.
Viewers sometimes remember BBC One because many later series were broadcast there. That recollection describes the show's subsequent home rather than its debut channel. The Canadian and American versions also use different broadcasters, so their transmission histories should not be used for the British edition.
