On what date was Portal 2 first released?

Portal 2 was first released on April 19, 2011.

Valve had originally planned the sequel for late 2010, then delayed it to February 2011 and again to the week of April 18. The final launch arrived first in North America, with retail and console release dates varying slightly by region.

The date is sometimes confused with April 20, the North American retail date listed in some release schedules, or April 22, the date associated with Europe and Australia. April 19 is the commonly cited first-release date for the game.

Portal 2 launched on Windows, macOS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A Linux version followed in 2014, and the game later joined Portal in the Nintendo Switch compilation Portal: Companion Collection in 2022.
