On what date was Charles VII crowned at Reims after Joan of Arc’s campaign?

The story behind the answer

Charles VII was crowned at Reims on 17 July 1429 after Joan of Arc’s campaign.

The coronation followed the French relief of Orléans and victories in the Loire campaign, including the Battle of Patay. Joan accompanied Charles to Reims and stood near him during the traditional royal ceremony.

Reims was symbolically important because French kings were traditionally crowned there. The ceremony strengthened Charles’s claim to the throne during the Hundred Years’ War, when the English-backed Treaty of Troyes had recognized Henry VI as heir to France.

Joan did not crown Charles herself; the archbishop placed the crown on him. Her role was as a military and inspirational figure who helped make the journey to Reims possible.
