J.K. Rowling’s birthday is 31 July, the same date given for Harry Potter’s birthday.
Rowling was born on 31 July 1965 in Yate, Gloucestershire. In the Harry Potter novels, Harry was born on 31 July 1980, making the shared date a memorable link between the author and her central character.
Harry’s birth date is stated in the series’ character information and becomes relevant to the story’s chronology. Rowling’s birthday is an independently documented biographical fact, so the match is more than a coincidence of fan-made calendars.
Another well-known character date is Hermione Granger’s birthday, 19 September. Ron Weasley’s birthday is 1 March, giving the three friends distinct dates in the series’ timeline.
