On what date did Nintendo first reveal Mario Kart World’s title and trailer?

Nintendo first revealed Mario Kart World’s title and trailer during a Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025.

The announcement introduced the game as a Nintendo Switch 2 title and showed its move toward open-world driving, off-road travel, and larger races. This was separate from the earlier January 16 announcement of the Switch 2, which had shown footage of an unnamed Mario Kart project.

Nintendo later held a dedicated Mario Kart World Direct on April 17, 2025. That presentation supplied additional details about modes, courses, characters, and the game’s broader structure, but it was not the first title reveal.

The game launched in most regions on June 5, 2025, alongside the Nintendo Switch 2. Keeping the reveal, dedicated Direct, and release date distinct helps avoid mixing up the three major dates in its launch campaign.
