On BBC's Dragon's Den, which original Dragon co-founded the Japanese-inspired restaurant chain Yo! Sushi?

The story behind the answer

Simon Woodroffe co-founded Yo! Sushi and was an original Dragon on BBC's Dragon's Den.

Woodroffe opened the first Yo! Sushi restaurant in Soho, London, in 1997. The chain became known for serving dishes on a conveyor belt, allowing customers to select food as it passed their tables. The concept adapted elements of Japanese kaiten-zushi dining for the British market.

He joined the original Dragon's Den panel when the programme launched in 2005. His business background was rooted in hospitality, branding and entrepreneurship rather than the retail and finance careers associated with several later Dragons.

A common mix-up is confusing Woodroffe with Peter Jones or Duncan Bannatyne, who were also original Dragons. Woodroffe left the panel after the first series, while Jones continued as the sole original Dragon throughout the show's run.
