Madden NFL 27’s cover design draws on which basketball legend’s Air Jordan imagery?

Madden NFL 27’s cover design draws on Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan imagery.

The cover depicts Caleb Williams throwing while jumping in front of the Chicago skyline. Wikipedia explains that the design was made to resemble the original advertisements for Michael Jordan’s Air Jordans, including the famous Jumpman-style visual idea.

This is an artistic reference rather than a claim that Jordan appears as a playable football athlete. Jordan is a basketball legend, while Williams is the NFL quarterback featured on the Madden cover.

The connection also gives the cover a specifically Chicago-centered identity. Williams plays for the Chicago Bears, the skyline represents Chicago, and the Air Jordan inspiration ties the image to one of the city’s most recognizable sports brands.
