Assassin's Creed Unity is primarily set in 1789.
The game opens in Paris at the beginning of the French Revolution, a period marked by political upheaval, food shortages, social conflict and the collapse of the old political order. Its protagonist, Arno Dorian, becomes involved with the Assassin Brotherhood while investigating the murder of his adoptive father.
Paris is the game's main open-world setting. Players visit locations such as the Bastille, the Tuileries and Notre-Dame, and the narrative follows events through the early revolutionary period. Unity was released in 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows.
