Assassin's Creed Revelations begins its main historical story in 1511.
The game follows Ezio Auditore as he travels to Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire, to recover keys connected with Altaïr's legacy. The historical portion begins in 1511 and continues through the early sixteenth century, placing Ezio's final major adventure after the events of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Constantinople is the principal setting, although the game also includes the Cappadocia region. The city is represented during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II and the succession struggle involving his sons Selim and Ahmet. These details distinguish Revelations from Assassin's Creed II, which is set mainly in Renaissance Italy.
Revelations was released in 2011. It brings together the stories of Ezio and Altaïr while continuing Desmond's modern-day narrative, making it a deliberate link between the first game and the Ezio trilogy.
